Top Model UK 2011 Competitions

After working hard and meeting the Director of Top Model UK at LFW I managed to gain some more amazing work experience at the Top Model UK competion shows at the end of March 2011! Here my job intails the same as at 'Al La Mode' - dressing the models, working alongside designers and stylists and assisting to anyones needs throughout the whole of the 3days. This show is 10 times bigger than the one I have just worked on at LFW so previous rehearsels have been taking place..

Models having a prep talk from their catwalk coach!

Also while there at the rehearsals I got to meet some more interesting people including Kelly Warrior, a Stylist and also Fashion Editor of the online fashion magazine Nijifashion.
Kelly Anthony Warrior

Kelly has done so many things within the Fashion Industry, you can find out more at  http://nijimagazine.com/?p=4693 but now her focus is on styling which is based around Vintage and over the years she has collated a massive range of vintage clothing and has been asked to style at the Top Model UK show on the first of three days.. Luckily for me I was asked to assist Kelly in sorting 11 outfits for the show and dressing the models etc. From now meeting Kelly and impressing her with my stylistic eye I have been invited along to help out at her launch show at the end of May in Wimbledon! So Excited :)

Also from this I have been asked to attend fashion events and blog about it so watch this space! More exciting things to happen! EEK

London Fashion Week 'Al La Mode'

Ok so managed to bag some AMAZING work experience at the 'Al La Mode' show at London Fashion week! My job involved assisting alocated designers throughout the two days I was there, dressing the models and attending to anyones needs! I had more involvement that I originally thought I would which was great! As well as the LGN Events team and the designers I met some other amazing people including models from Top Model UK and also the Director, Geoff - he's Fab!

MajinJoo was the first designer I worked with, she graduated last year from London College of Fashion and her designs are wicked...

All her knitwear is hand knitted! TALENTED!
MajinJoo Desgins- LOVE this model, perfect Topshop Model I think :)

The second designer I worked with was Belinda Liu, also a fab designer. A self taught seemstress/ designer with only a few drawing classes!
Belinda Liu Designs - I RATE this model :) Although all the models at Top Model UK are absolute stunners and a pleasure to work with!

Belinda Liu Designs - Alex! She's another HOT model :)
The models, rehearsing for their walk!
Me working hard, getting everything in order! haha
Backstage!

Another very talented up & coming designer, REHMALI. Did a degree in accountancy and still works within accountacy to fund her design work. Also self taught and her collection was kicked off after people started recognising her 'home-made' clothes and from there asking her to design and make garments to order!
Rehmali Designs (Model and Designer)

Overall the whole weekend was absolutely amazing, such a buzz from it all. It has really proved the Fashion Industry is where I want to be....and WILL be.
